While I was camping near Aspen I found some incredible spots and finally got to use it for a engagement photo session. I knew exactly where to go when I talked with Gen and Chad and they wanted big mountain views and a lake for their engagement photos near Aspen Colorado.
For my sessions, we pick a general location to meet and then wander from there and "see what we see." One spot we did find was a huge area where an avalance happened the year prior. It was so big in fact that you would see a clear area all the way from the top of the mountain valley and it washed out across the road and into the river. You could see all the work the forest service was having to do. In fact, the 2018 winter was a record year for avalances. It was a crazy year for snow build up. For some odd reason it was crazy hot when we were at that spot so we had to retreat into the trees. Still a very interesting sight to see.
Chad really loves his Jeep so I found us a cool offroad trail to wander up for a bit too before ending up on top of a mountain pass.
I am really looking forward to their wedding this summer at Mount Princeton Hot Springs near Buena Vista Colorado.
