The Covey is this relatively new wedding venue just north of Fort Collins Colorado. Given Diana's natural tendancy to become friends with everyone around her, she knew the owners of the Covey. So it made complete sense to have her wedding there.
Diana and Zach's wedding plans didn't begin with The Covey. The intially wanted to do something really crazy and special. They wanted to tour New Zealand and share their vows in some unknown grand location. I was all in! Unfortunately, COVID was in full swing and poo poo'ed that idea and Z + D just couldnt wait any longer to say I do... so they shifted to a small ceremony with close family and friends at The Covey.
The day was filled with some insane wind that thankfully, died down a little for portrait time around sunset. I look back and really loved the super special moment where Diana did her grandmothers hair a little bit of makeup. I was super close with my Granny so I completly knew this connection and loved it. She is a super sweet lady. Well, both Diana and her grandmother are. Hahahahaha.
One fun thing to note is that the people who attended the wedding were connected with the couple, but also the people who worked to put it on; myself included. Diana and I went to high school together and thanks to the occasional magic of facebook we were able to keep in touch as our lives evolved. I am glad that she selected me to capture her wedding. It meant a lot to her and myself.
