Tucked away in the heart of the Colorado mountains, Rhize Weddings near Divide served as the perfect autumn escape for Morgan and Patrick along with their joyful, four-legged golden retriever sidekick. Surrounded by fiery fall foliage and sweeping mountain views, their wedding day was a perfect blend of laid-back mountain charm and heartfelt celebration.
The day began in Rhize’s dreamy A-frame mini cabins, where the couple got ready with their closest friends. These rustic cabins, nestled beneath towering pines, offered the perfect backdrop for candid moments and quiet anticipation.
Their first look was along a road again surrounded by giant golden aspens. I was moved by how emotional Patrick was. We even had some fun with his sunglasses trying to hide it. We both wanted to capture the real moments and to lean into them vs shy away. I hope I provide that safe space to be that comfortable with.
The ceremony took place on a small clearing near the "Eagles Nest" cabin with a giant view of golden aspens, with sunlight streaming through the leaves and soft mountain air rustling in the background. The intimacy of the space and the emotional vows made it feel like the whole forest paused to listen.
Following the “I do’s,” guests gathered in Rhize’s cozy reception space — an inviting, wood-accented hall that felt like a mountain lodge meets modern dinner party. Twinkle lights, warm tones, and long family-style tables created a relaxed, communal vibe. Every detail felt personal and intentional, even down to the couple’s custom cake topper featuring — of course — a nod to their beloved pup.
As the night cooled, everyone made their way outside to the glowing campfire. Blankets, laughter, and s’mores in hand, the evening wrapped up with stories under the stars and sticky fingers — a perfect end to a perfectly Colorado fall wedding day.
