With my destination weddings I am generally there for a few extra days beyond the wedding so I like to plan adventure excursions with my wedding couples to give them even more amazing wall art and memories. As with Katie and Joe's wedding in Cancun Mexico at the insanely fabulous Now Sapphire Resort, once you get that shot of them on the beach with blue sky and blue water, not much changes. We need trees, rocks, something to add a sense of place and time. So, I like to do these destination wedding adventures. It's like having your own pro travel photographer. No need to worry about capturing it all yourself with your phone. Just have fun and I will get it all.

Katie and Joe's family came with a few of their best friends. It was great to get to know them a bit more before the big wedding day.

This time we went on a snorkeling adventure with Maroma Adventures which included an awesome boat ride, a bunch of mexican beer, a spinnaker swing, and some light food afterwards. Maroma Adventures was just a bit south of the Now Sapphire Resort so we also got a nice bus ride as well. Our guide and the boat crew were great. Really knowlegable, friendly and funny.

The took us out to the reef which is part of the Mesoamerican Reef system, the third largest in the world.

As for the snorkeling, it was pretty awesome. I was focusing more on capturing everyone in the water but a few points the ocean sucked me in. I got swarmed with these small fish, saw a creepy eel, and a squid. That was super cool! I could tell he saw me and wasn't quite sure what to do as I follwed him. The fish couldn't give a rip but this little do knew I was there and was standoffish so I let him be. After a few pictures of course.

The spinnaker is a sail that had a rope that you can sit on and it was kind of a bonus. It has to be pretty windy for it to lift you in the air. As they let it out further and further you get higher and higher but they also lose more and more control so the thing starts to sway back and forth. It generally will toss you or you can bail off. It was really fun!
