Karolina and Jacob wanted to have a very personal wedding day and felt it was best for them to elope just the two of them. Jacob's family has a cabin outside Carbondale and they just loved the idea of exchanging vows somewhere in the mountains near Marble Colorado. Having grown up on the western slope and \you ineveitably end up traveling to all these small towns if you have that wanderlust as much as I do.
It's a fanatastic spot for an elopement wedding if your high on nature and love the outdoors. There's big mountains, great 4x4 trails, awesome river fly fishing spots and good camping locations. Lot's to see and do outdoors. There's also the old Marble Mill in town to check out where they would mill down the raw marble they quarried just up the hill from town.
The day started out so nice and normal. We met at the cabin in Carbondale and headed out to the ceremony location we picked in the forest. Once we arrived some crazy clouds moved in and mid ceremony as Karolina and Jacob were making their pledges and vows of love to one another it began to pour rain. Within mere minutes we were all soaked.
The best part of all that was how K & J rolled with it. I have rain gear as I know how Colorado rolls and what she can throw at you. They were so great and just embraced the fun and let all that "luck" roll down their faces. Thankfully it was quite warm and no wind to make it uncomfortable. The clouds mid mountain really added some neat mystery and ambience.
We had plans to go 4 wheeling quite a way up the road but with all the rain the river has risen too much and washed out the road. It didn't seem worth pushing out luck so we enjoyed some fun photos at the river before heading down and ending with a champagne toast at the cabin just as the sun went down. Pretty perfect wedding day if you ask me.
I am available for all of Colorado and destination weddings, elopements, and engagements. I love to wander.
