When Megan and Patrick contacted me to photograph their Black Diamond Lodge wedding I was overjoyed. I simply adore this venue and Megan and Patrick. They really are two of the sweetest people I've met. They are so well suited for each other. Their big fans of finger guns and smoked cheesecake.
Megan had so many wonderful tributes to her mother in the wedding. She lost her very suddenly before the wedding and it just broke my heart. Speaking of hearts, she cut a heart out of her moms wedding dress and sewed it into the interior of hers.
The Black Diamond Lodge recently was purchased and renamed from The Silverpick Lodge. All of the charm and fantastic ceremony location was kept with an additional boost to the main lodge. Another reason I like it besides the ceremony site is that they have on-site lodging options with the condos right by the lodge and also others down the hill a bit at the Purgatory ski resort. There's also a cool mountain bar right next door that used to be a Airbnb that I actually stayed at for another wedding a few years ago.
