After changing plans and locations a few times. Thanks 2020. J+J wanted a sunrise mountain wedding at Rounds Park in Breckenridge Colorado. It came as a suggestion from their reception venue the Breckenridge Golf Club which is only like a minute away from Rounds Park.
Planning a sunrise wedding can me tricky, expecially in September. The weather is general is pretty steady and nice but at 9,500 ft elevation, it still gets pretty cold at night. You can see the frost on the grass at the beginning of the ceremony in a photo below. It's an all season in a single day plan. By the time of their ceremony is was nearing 90 degrees and time to bust out the sunblock. I am all for the temperature swings. It actually makes the day interesting and gives you changes for all sorts of lighting conditions.
After the ceremony we headed to Sapphire Point to enjoy the views and take a few more photos. Its a great spot. Pro Tip: There's going to be a bunch of people and even with a wedding permit you don't get to keep the general public out, although MOST people are pretty respectful.
I am available for all of Colorado and destination weddings, elopements, and engagements. I love to wander.
